Tori Cooper, the director of community engagement for the Trans Justice Initiative, said in a press release for the LGBTQ advocacy group Human Rights Campaign ( HRC ) that” Trans Day of Visibility is a day to celebrate the beauty and resilience of our dynamic community.”

” Trans individuals are powerful”, Cooper, who is also a part of the National Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS, continued,” we are happy, and we’re not going somewhere”.

There are over 1.6 million transgender, nonbinary and sex- wide children ( time 13+ ) and people across the United States, according to HRC.

( And to refute any conspiracy theories that claim that TDOV is a direct attack on Easter, even though it occurs on the same day as Easter this year, that is a coincidence. Easter is celebrated on numerous times, while TDOV is always observed on March 31.

This significant HIV danger was the subject of earlier this year’s report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The document underscored that HIV rates were related to discrimination, violence, poverty and small uptake of pre- exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, to avoid HIV.
