300 people go to the “guerilla bring show” to rally the anti-trans event.

This year, about 300 people attended a “guerrilla bring show” outside of an event with anti-transgender speakers. The anti-trans event was held on the Cal Poly campus in San Luis Obispo, California, and was sponsored by the traditional student organization Turning Point USA. Chloe Cole, a proponent of the de-transition, and American anti-LGBT advocate Chris Elston both gave speeches at the event.

” A Dad &amp, A Detransitioner’s Get on the Transgender Movement” is the name of Cole and Elston apparently touring the country on a speaking journey. The lecturers were expected to “explain what the transgender movement actually is, the truth about it, and the myths that surround it,” according to Turning Point’s Instagram article promoting the event.

Right-wing detransitionist Cole has turned into a fervent supporter of anti-trans laws and policies. Elston, who frequently displays sandwich-board placards with anti-trans slogans, spent a portion of 2020 and 2021 erecting billboards and waving signs that read” I ( heart ) J. K. Rowling” and harassing women he believed to be overly supportive of trans rights.

The Cal Poly Drag Club organized a bring present outside the place in retaliation.

The team wrote in an Instagram post promoting the occasion,” Bring club is a pillar for the gay community and our friends.” We are horrified that Turning Point USA has invaded our college with their anti-trans plan. We are staging a rebel drag show in protest to get the love and gay joy that are present here.

According to San Luis Obispo’s The Tribune, just 100 attendees of the drag show sat inside and listened to the anti-trans listeners, compared to 300 who showed up.

Hundreds of students can be seen giggling and dancing in a drag show picture as they watch the players.

It’s kind of melancholy in a way, entertainer and bring team vice president Vinny Torres said to The Tribune, adding,” I hate having to be here to try to show that we exist, we’re happy, and we were successful as trans people, but I also love that I get to see so many people show up for this community.”

In response to irate students who claimed the class had done nothing more to prevent the Turning Point event, a university spokesperson defended the institution.

According to Cal Poly director Matt Lazier,” We understand why some people are upset about specific host speakers.” However, it is not the responsibility of the university to determine who is permitted to voice their opinions on campus.
