The jury exposes Ron DeSantis ‘deceptions in order to pass a law prohibiting trans children from receiving medical care.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has had a very bad time this year. His chances of winning the presidency are dwindling due to his total lack of personality and public campaign incompetence. Florida citizens are losing money as a result of his losing battle against Disney. Then, a federal court almost accused DeSantis of lying because of the way he defended his ban on medical care for trans children.

DeSantis insisted on numerous occasions that the legislation was required to stop children from being “mutilated.” In one instance, he pursued a reporter who inquired about it before signing the bills in May of last year.

DeSantis said, “And when you talk to people and I know, like people in your business will dress it up with a word and they’ll say it’s health care to cut off a 14 or 15 year old.” “That is not health care. That constitutes mutilation.”

Show U.S. District Judge Robert Hinkle that.

“What if I infer from these remarks when examining the governor’s motivation?” Hinkle inquired about the laws at a hearing. “This appears to be more than just exaggeration.”

Three Florida families with trans kids are challenging the law, and Hinkle is presiding over the case. While the legislation is being contested, he has issued a stay to prevent the measure from going into effect. He has not agreed with the governor’s position. Hinkle asserted that “Gender identity is real” in a decision that overturned Florida’s restrictions on Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming care.

Hinkle acknowledged that he is unable to fully understand what is going through DeSantis’ mind. He questioned whether the plaintiffs could establish DeSantis’ “hatred of transgender people” as the reason he supported the law. According to the families’ attorney, the legislation is illegal in its entirety, but DeSantis’ motivations are not the deciding factor.

According to Hinkle, he believes that the law should prevent trans children from receiving medical care rather than preventing mutilation. That’s a very strong indication that the judge is about to give DeSantis the cold shoulder.

It’s yet another indication that DeSantis centered his strategy on a failing notion. He has bet heavily that he will use his anti-trans credentials to make a powerful impression in the Iowa presidential election. In the meantime, things are looking shaky for Nikki Haley in Iowa with him on the rise and DeSantis’ campaign in disarray. Given everything, Ron might be disappointed to see 2023 come to an end because it could be much worse in 2024.
