I’m writing to thank Laura Hancock for her Jan. 6 content, “DeWine symptoms executive order banning transgender surgeries on minors,” and to make some recommendations for what to include in the future.
I discovered I was well-informed about Gov. after reading this article. New limitations on gender-affirming treatment for both adults and children imposed by Mike DeWine. I particularly liked how each operational action DeWine’s plan was broken down. As a genderqueer small, I can talk for many of my LGBTQ+ family members, friends, and classmates when I say that I’m appreciative of an objective information source that covers important topics in such depth.
Although maintaining honesty is important, I think it would be helpful to include suggestions, quotes, or an appointment with a transgender person or youth in your upcoming articles on the subject because they are the ones who are being targeted by these bills and administrative actions and because our voices are frequently muffled by the excluded community. Bringing up related charges in various states across the nation had further support your claim.
