In order to promote its new Women+ Connect feature, which allows women and genderfluid owners to connect with women and genderfluid people, the well-known carpooling game Lyft is using a transgender woman.
Any vehicle who identifies as a woman will be able to connect with non-binary or sexual passengers thanks to the new feature in the app. In contrast, it will also let passengers get a non-binary or female driver.
The company formed a paid relationship with a transgender girl from Oregon, David, or “Davie” Felton, 55, on TikTok to promote the new element in late February.
According to a GoFundMe site intended to raise funds to provide free garments to members of the Central Oregon trans area, Felton, a TikTok influencer with almost a million followers, describes herself as “genderqueer.”
Felton stated in a blog on TikTok that “This feature gives people and non-binary people more control over the driving practice,” adding that it “gives them more control over the car.”

After just five locations began offering Women+ Connect in September 2023, Lyft expanded its Women+ Connect feature globally previous month. Women+ Connect gives women and genderfluid riders and drivers more command over the carpool experience, according to a media release from the company.
Drivers with the choice on will still be matched with men if there are no women or nonbinary riders near because Women+ Connect is a choice have, not a guarantee, according to an organization spokesperson who spoke to Fox News Digital in a statement.
Additionally, the business added that it places an emphasis on safety on its vehicles and that it removes both passengers and drivers from the program when they violate its safety standards.
Uber and Lyft, which have almost replaced the taxi business, have both recently been the subject of significant legal battles involving allegations of sexual assault, kidnapping, and harassment. The company did not specify in its announcement whether Women+ Connect was founded to “build an equal platform where women and genderfluid people can thrive” but rather to “build an equal platform where women and genderfluid people is thrive.”
The business stated that “we’re often looking for new ways to empower motorists and riders.”

For instance, a traveler who identifies as nonbinary might request a driver who also identifies as nonbinary, and then establish a medically distinct category for both adult travelers and drivers, she said.
Perry continued, “This has gone but very far beyond the realm of common sense and will be quite an insufficient, if no aggravating circumstance.”
More than 4, 000 physical assaults were reported on Lyft’s game between 2017 and 2019, according to data released by Lyft. Fox News Digital requested an updated statement from the business on Tuesday.
A Connecticut judge rejected Lyft’s plea in February to dismiss a lawsuit brought by a family of an unidentified 14-year-old girl who claimed one of the app’s drivers had sexually assaulted her in New York.
Additionally, earlier this year, a Florida woman filed a lawsuit against the business after claiming a female driver had raped her and caused her to become pregnant. In her lawsuit, Lyft claimed that it “failed to take sensible precautions to protect its vulnerable female passengers… from the immediate and known danger of assault.”
Fox News Digital reached out to Felton for reply, but it was not received by press time.
