Slutty Vegan’s new Greenwich Village location is ode to LGBTQ community (Exclusive)

Founder of the popular veggie burger chain, is actually bringing her popular burgers to the Village, with the new location’s grand opening slated for Saturday.

The investor says the new shop will be carefully placed at 280 Bleecker Street, near 7th Avenue South. Though this isn’t her first, Cole says this particular area has a special meaning to her.

“It’s happening pretty quickly. I’m really excited about it. To be in Manhattan, it’s a big deal. There’s a lot of foot traffic here,” Cole told the Daily News. “And I’m excited to make a lot of money right there. And I’m also excited to really put Slutty Vegan in the mix.”

Cole continued, “The theme of that site is really an ode to the transgender community. So we are actually talking about the action in this business. And I’m purposeful about the aesthetic here.”

The Bleecker business is Cole’s 12th Slutty Vegan spot, with one in Fort Greene and another. Cole says she attributes the rapid growth of her business to the complete “experience” Slutty Vegan consistently offers customers, regardless of whether they are vegan.

“I know how to give people a great experience. And I know how to make individuals have a good time. If I can make people have a good time, right? You can sell them something. And I’m aware of that,” she tells the News.

“I’m meeting you where you are so that you can go to another diner and say, ‘You know what, Slutty Vegan was great. And I’m not vegan, but I can go to another restaurant and have some omnivore meals.’ And that’s actually been the solution since 2018.”

The company owner opened her first business in and the stakes became a social media sensation when celebrities such as posted videos gushing about the flavor and texture of Slutty Vegan sandwiches.

Now with all her success, Cole would like to fulfill her original vision.

“It’s interesting because my original vision was I wanted to be an artist. Yeah, so a lot of people don’t know that. And I became SAG early on. So all the casting directors, holla at me, come, come contact me. But I’m gonna start taking acting classes.”

“So I’m doing all the things that people say that you can do. Like, you can be a director and own a business. As long as you master the talent set and apply yourself. Everything is possible.”
