A Black trans woman who recently relocated from Kenya is one of the people who actually sticks out in my remembrance as a direct beneficiary of this offer. She had trouble navigating our public transportation system because she only spoke European, and the language barrier was making things difficult for her. We were able to apply the Lyfts to get her to work conversations, cover discussions, and English lessons. To this day, she has benefited from all the tools we were able to join her with and is now living freely, employed, and also attending English lessons.
Even though the work has been difficult, stories like the ones above and the relationships I’ve established with my ACTIVATE group serve as reminders to halt and applaud the successes. like when we bought our first intermediate home. This was significant to the business, and it will remain so for generations to come. I hope that if we all continue to work together, we will all be able to experience my type of transgender joy-rest. In its finest concept. We should all strive for a time when we do n’t have to work or be awakened because the joy of rest without worry is something we should all strive for. I have n’t experienced this fully, but pieces thus far, and it’s been liberating.
