Four transgender athletes from” In Their Own Terms” participated in a video project for USA TODAY that explored their own experiences with living in a society that is extremely angry to people of all genders. We’re recording the athletes ‘ conversations in a movie file.
More than ever, this task is necessary right now. Trans athletes are being made increasingly difficult to join teams that reflect their gender identities.
According to the transgender sports interviewed for this project, one of the main objectives of those who support these bills is to dehumanize and spread false information about the transgender community. They’ve identified gymnastics as a car to strike transgender citizens, the athletes said.
A diverse story is told by these sports. It is a narrative of desire, self- expression, and sports competitors. It’s their story…told in their own thoughts.
