Gahler vs. Cassilly is trivial shooting, Republican type
Judge Jeff Gahler criticizes letter writer Patrick Wallis for writing a dirty struck part against him in his letter to the Aegis. (” Harford County government devolves into a sleazefest”, March, 15 ).
I enjoyed reading the letter from Patrick Wallis. It was burning, no filthy. It was not a “hit item” but a “wit part”. Sheriff Gahler did n’t seem to understand that Mr. Wallis is a letter writer and not a journalist. Before writing that letter, he was free to call the deputy. According to Mr. Wallis ‘ measurements of the relationships between Sheriff Gahler, County Council member Aaron Penman, and County Executive Robert Cassilly, these people are wasting state money and time on contentious nonsense and power works. They all belong to the destructive Republican Party, where competing objectives and goals clash frequently and without a peaceful solution or compromise.
If Mr. Cassilly thwarted Sheriff Gahler’s request for a new and expanded training center for sheriff’s representatives and goes against his own earlier statements, that indicates that things have changed since the two people have developed into private animosity, and Patrick Wallis is correct.
What came first, the chicken or the egg? Or, Mr. Cassilly’s obstinacy about denying the judge a new training center or Deputy Gahler’s fascination with a new training service? The more it is denied by Cassilly, the more gigantic the need for it in Gahler’s head. Who knows?
Despite having such deep intellectual questions, both are at a standstill, and three members of the divided Republican household are in bullfights goring one another rather than attending bull roasts, and there is a plethora of camaraderie.
That was Patrick Wallis ‘ facile typing fingers ‘ general message. Picking the boy’s letter off with picayune particulars may become Sheriff Gahler’s opportunity, but it was more of the same playground argument:” He did it first, not me, darling”.
The entire matter is young, and Sheriff Gahler may take he’s met his match in Cassilly. He did get no education facility. After all, Cassilly is following the Democratic philosophy of balancing the funds, and he thinks he can do it on Gahler’s up while getting Gahler’s animal.
As Sheriff Gahler writes, the First Amendment does not have an integrity condition. If it did, Donald Trump would n’t be the Republican Party’s nominee in 2024.

March 31 is the International Transgender Day of Visibility. It is a time to honor and applaud transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming people’s achievements both globally and in our neighborhood.
We recognize the courage of our trans siblings, friends, family, and inc- workers as they continue to fight for justice, inclusion, and the whole recognition of their individual rights, all while balancing life’s responsibilities and navigating a society that very often is attempting to reduce their existence and disenfranchise them.
The second function of the 2024 year of the Upper Chesapeake Bay Pride Foundation was intended to be a happy hour to ring in the new year. Instead, we held a memorial service for local trans activist Meghan Lewis on January 2 outside of her Bel Air house. In 2023, the Human Rights Campaign reported the harsh incidents of 32 trans people global, two of them in Maryland.
Additionally, 81 % of trans people and 50 % of transgender and intersex youth have thought about suicide. Transgender people are also more likely to contemplate suicide. However, some of our Harford County delegates have not stopped them from sponsoring regulations that had obstruct trans people, legislation that had failed in the past and may fail again in the 2024 session. Some board of education people are more concerned with preventing pride flags and pronouns than ensuring healthy classrooms for all students, and they join them in their prejudice. When will it stop?
To all of the transgender members of our community: We see you, we love you, and we will continue to advocate for you. We urge the numerous friends in our society to increase trans voices, talk out against anti-trans policies and legislation, and make sure trans people are aware of their support during this International Transgender Day of Visibility. There is too many transgender deaths in our area. Harford County should not be known for this, in my opinion.
