Gili Roman and Yarden Roman-Gat, his girl, have a long history of friendship in Washington.

During an interview in Washington on Monday, Roman said,” We are best friends.” ” We communicated with each other without using words. We often support one another.

Roman came out as gay to his relatives when he was 26 years old. When they were on holiday in Vietnam a few months afterward, he told his sister. She was “very furious at me that I came up to our parents before I told her,” according to Roman.

Roman recalled,” I do n’t believe you told me after our parents,” she said. She was extremely excited for me because she wanted me to have this open and happy life, whereas with my parents it was n’t easy.

Less than a fortnight after his sister was abducted by Hamas insurgents, Roman spoke with the Blade.

Roman-Gat spent four years residing in Be’eri, a community close to the border between Israel and the Gaza Strip, with her husband, Alon Gat. They relocated in September with their 3-year-old girl Gefen due to what Roman called” all the health issues, and the missile attacks.”

Roman remarked,” She was n’t willing to tolerate that any longer.

For us, it’s similar to a Holocaust tale.

Roman-Gat, a physical therapist who treats the elderly and those with physical and mental health conditions, and her family decided to spend the Simchat Torah trip in Be’eri with Gat’s families after their trip to South Africa. On October 7, they were inside their house when Hamas launched its wonder assault.

Roman, 39, resides about 50 km northwest of Be’eri in Tel Aviv. He claimed that on October 7, around 6:30 a.m., air raid sirens roused him and his girlfriend.

When this occurs, we typically words to let them know they’re okay because it takes them much less time to get to the house. Roman remarked that when extremists build a rocket, locals in the Gaza area have seconds to seek refuge. Tel Aviv residents have 90 hours to find safety. ” I turned on the TV after the second weapon concern and realized that this is not the usual regular.”

” We began to observe jihadists infiltrating various cities near the kibbutz,” he continued.

Roman repeatedly texted his sister, asking her if she had locked the door to the protected area where she and her relatives had gone and whether someone was carrying a tool. Every 30 days, Roman-Gat sent a text to her nephew to update their family on what was going on.

Roman recalled,” She would text me neither a spirit or small conversation.”

Roman claimed that his girlfriend last spoke to him at around 10 a.m. He informed the Blade that “terrorists entered the house and took them” about 20 hours later.

Roman remarked,” At first I really thought that they lost link.” ” We were unsure of the specifics of what occurred.”

Roman, a reserve member of the Israel Defense Force, claimed that when he and his household” started to understand that something really awful was happening in Be’eri,” they were getting ready to build their unit to the nation’s border with Lebanon. Afterwards, Roman Gat’s father-in-law informed Roman that he had been” separated from the rest of the family.”

Roman remarked,” He was still in the home, and he saw all of his family members taken separately.”

A few hours later, Roman reported to the Blade that he had seen his daughter’s mother-in-law and three of her companions being “taken through the streets next to their home with a few terrorists surrounding them.” According to him, false reports in Israeli media claimed that the insurgents had taken them to the kibbutz’s dining hall and were preparing to discuss their release.

Roman claimed that Gat called him on October 8 at around 7:30 a.m. and informed him of what had occurred the day before.

According to media reports, four insurgents loaded Roman-Gat, Scores, their daughter, and two additional Be’eri occupants into a vehicle. According to reports, one of them was put inside the tree.

Roman-Gat and Scores jumped out of the car as it drew near Gaza with their child. Roman claimed that the insurgents started chasing them. When his sister gave her child to her partner because of his faster running, he informed the Blade that they were being shot at.

Before they arrived at Be’eri IDF soldiers, Experimental and his daughter hid for 18 hours. He claimed to have last seen his wife running from the insurgents who were shooting at her while hiding behind a branch.

Roman remarked,” For us, it’s like a Holocaust tale.” The bad of running and chasing an honest home with a family makes it the worst horror story you can imagine.

Roman informed the Blade that on October 8, he dressed in his IDF dress and traveled to Be’eri.

He recalled that” Battlefields, everything was on fire,” just like in the movies when you first started traveling to the South. ” You saw systems scattered along the street, and you saw the vehicles all strewn with guns because people were killed while operating them.”

When Roman arrived, Hamas insurgents were also present in Be’eri. Two of them, he claimed, “tackled” them and “were shooting at us.”

Roman remarked,” The soldiers had to exit the vehicle, remove them, and then return.”

He claimed that it took the Army a few days to drive the militants out of the area. Next, search teams were able to conduct extensive searches for those who had been killed or taken hostage.

Roman claimed that his brother-in-law was successful in locating the branch that Roman Experimental had been hiding behind. He informed the Blade that after discovering her plain footprint next to a foot print, the searchers came to the conclusion that the militants had once more kidnapped her and taken her to Gaza.

Roman remarked,” They saw they did n’t venture very far from the tree.” ” They believe she was being carried by someone.”

Roman claimed that on October 10, Hamas posted a picture depicting his daughter’s mother-in-law and her three neighbors who had abducted her at the “end of the road in their own pool of blood.” Her father and brothers, according to Roman, saw it on social media.

Roman Gat’s sister-in-law was even taken hostage by the insurgents. Roman claimed that the community thinks she is currently in Gaza as well.

Experimental and his daughter are currently residing in Givatym, a city just outside of Tel Aviv, with Roman’s father.

Roman claimed that his daughter was aware that “bad people had taken them and she was supposed to hide in front of their home, their healthy place.” He added that she is aware that he and his family are looking for her family.

They were inseparable, according to Roman.

Ten months previously, Roman’s mother passed away. He claimed that his daughter was “very near to both of her grandmothers.”

Roman informed the Blade that his daughter’s father-in-law is “doing his best.” He claimed to pay daily visits to his relatives in Givatym.

Roman remarked,” He’s a shelter in his own country.” ” He lost his wife, and his girl is abducted, as well as his in-law’s child.” He finds it to be extremely difficult.

Roman, a 39-year-old instructor, was formerly the Eastern Mediterranean International School’s main close to Tel Aviv.

Making “education a force for peace and conservation in the Middle East” is the university’s goal. Among the pupils are Arabs, Israelites, and Palestinians.

Roman has spent the past five decades as a member of the Nemos LGBTQ+ Swimming Club.

Roman and his cousin were brought to the United States by the Israeli Organisations of North America. They may visit New York before flying back to Israel the following year.

Among the other writers Roman has discussed his girl, who is also a European member, with is CNN’s Jake Tapper. Roman recalled that he spoke at a pro-Israel protest in Berlin last month that more than 20,000 people attended to celebrate her 36th day.

He said,” It was very strong, but it was also very clear that she was n’t there.”

Roman was speaking with the Blade while donning a dark baseball hat that read,” Bring Yarden home then.” Additionally, he wore a dog tag around his chest that read “bring them home today” in Hebrew and featured the Star of David.

Since the start of the war, more than 1,400 Israelis have perished. At least 260 people were killed by Hamas extremists at an all-night music festival in Re’im, a kibbutz some distance from Be’eri. Roman-Gat is one of the 240 people who were kidnapped by militants from Hamas and other Muslim radical teams, and hundreds of different Israelis have suffered injuries as a result.

Beersheba, Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Ben Gurion Airport, and different areas in central and southern Israel have all been reached by Hamas launchers. According to media reports, Hezbollah has attacked IDF messages and fired missiles into north Israel from Lebanon. He is a criminal group that the United States and Israel have labeled along with Hamas.

Jewish attacks in the area, according to the Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry, have killed more than 8, 000 individuals and injured thousands more.

The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has gotten worse as a result of the Jewish administration’s decision to stop delivering electricity, water, food, and fuel to the country. On October 27, the IDF started its ground invasion of the area.

On Tuesday, Gazan authorities reported that hundreds of people were killed or injured as a result of an Army strike in the Jabaliya refugee camp close to Gaza City. According to the Associated Press, the IDF claimed to have killed a Hamas chief and numerous other extremists.

Around the world, calls for a peace are getting louder. Since October 7, acts of hatred and Islamophobia have also grown in the U.S. and other nations.

Roman especially praised the German government and the Biden-Harris administration for their handling of the conflict.

He claimed to “understand” and “relate” to some of the accusations leveled at Israel. Roman also acknowledged that there is a great deal of division within the LGBTQ+ area and the “liberal world,” “progressive earth.”

He told the Blade,” I see why people are suffering because of the life lost in Gaza best now.” ” I find it difficult as well. Compared to the locals, I definitely know more Palestinians.

According to Roman, Hamas “has done injury to the Arab cause.”

He told the Blade,” What transpired in the South is never a Arab story.” The jihadistic passion is wholly illegitimate, but the Arab ambition for liberty and for self-independence is really legitimate.

Roman continued,” It’s not something that people should support in any way.” ” The desire to death anyone who is either no Muslim or supports the ambition to establish a Muslim kingdom” is pure evil.

The biggest loss of the Jewish position was on October7.

Roman made note of the fact that he did not support the right-wing coalition government the prime minister formed late last month or ballot for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Roman added that he backed the protest movement against the judicial system changes that activists claimed would hurt Israeli LGBTQ+ people.

He referred to October 7 as” Israel’s biggest loss.” Roman also emphasized that his girlfriend and her family left Be’eri as a result of the ongoing rocket challenges from Gaza.

What can we do? he asked,” My sister and I were n’t going to accept it. ” We are no federal employees, but for years the world has accepted that we are constantly under fire, and this is how it allowed it to happen,” said Israel.

Roman informed the Blade that it would “take some time to control Hamas” and that Gaza would be under the military and political power of the IDF. He added that Hamas enjoys widespread aid in the West Bank.

Roman remarked,” It’s not something that you are being done with in a month or two.” ” It’s really important, but it’ll be pretty challenging.”

Roman admitted to the Blade that his main concern is what will occur after the battle is over.

He stated that while there may be settlement with the Palestinians as a people and as an object, there is no way to do so with terrorists. You may also sit at the table and talk as long as they win, are in strength, and have such strong support from the Arab people. What topics may you talk about? They want to get rid of you. There is no exchange of words.

Roman continued,” We need to reach a place where the Palestinians understand that those two expeditions cannot coexist.” They don’t want to exterminate us while also gaining independence.

Israelis, he added, “need to gain a lot of confidence they did n’t include initially in the aspirations and ambitions of the Palestinians and the Arabs around us.”
