Republicans are criticizing President Joe Biden for declaring Easter Sunday to be the Transgender Day of Visibility, despite the fact that the two weeks coincided this year by accident.
Every year on March 31, the Transgender Day of Visibility, a moment of attention for transgender and gender nonconforming people’s accomplishments, is held. The day of Easter, however, changes from year to year.
But many Democrats seized on Biden’s declaration to strike the leader.
“It is horrible and disrespectful that Joe Biden’s White House … officially proclaimed Easter Sunday as ‘Trans Day of Visibility,” former President Donald Trump’s campaign said in a statement.

While touting his government’s work to advance transgender freedom, such as lifting the trans defense restrictions, the senator slammed Republican-led attempts to suppress protections for trans Americans, describing them as “bullying and bias”.
In acknowledgment of the Transgender Day of Visibility in 2021, Biden issued the first political statement of its kind, and he has since done so annually.
Democratic lawmakers at the state and federal levels are calling for a number of strict laws, including those requiring minors to receive gender-affirming care and preventing trans women from competing on sports teams that reflect their gender identity. This has become a hot topic in the national debate over transgender rights.
Trump, the presumptive GOP candidate, has made the issue a talking place, promising to “ban people from participating in children’s activities”. Numerous states have already taken the necessary steps to pass a ban, which will further support various anti-LGBT initiatives.
