Karine Jean-Pierre, a White House spokesman, expressed concern over Fox News ‘ negative policy of Transgender Day of Visibility over the weekend because Fox had once tweeted support for the day that honored all transgender people.
On Sunday, Fox News ran section after section disputing the celebration’s claim that it took place on Easter on March 31.
” I’m surprised by the propaganda that’s been spread about this, and I want to be very apparent,” Jean-Pierre said.” Every year for the past several years, Transgender Day of Visibility is observed.” And, as we know, for folks who understand the calendar and how it works, Easter falls on various Saturday, right? Every time. And this year, Transgender Visibility Day also occurs. She continued:
We were, at second, I want to be very clear, confused on their policy. We’re glad that Fox and President Biden share the importance of honoring Trans Day of Visibility. And I’ll only offer a statement Fox made in 2021. They stated on Twitter that” Trans Day of Visibility is dedicated to honoring trans individuals. We see you and walk with you, transgender people, ladies, and intersex people.
Trans Day of Visibility is a celebration of trans people’s contributions to society and raising knowledge of the bias they face. We see you and support you, transgender people, ladies, and non-binary people. # TVForAll phot# TransDayOfVisibility#. twitter.com/qpYIucSRya
