Due to the anticipated participation of LGBTQ+ singers, an online complaint is calling for a ban of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
One Million Moms, a division of the “pro- traditional values” organization American Family Association ( AFA ), spearheaded the petition. As of media day, more than 18, 000 persons had signed the appeal.
Since it first took place in 1924, the quarterly Macy’s parade in New York City has been one of the holiday ‘ most well-known occasions. For the holidays, which feature glides, marching bands, and live performances by well-known musicians, throngs of people descend upon Manhattan.
One Million Moms is objecting to the amusement planned for the event the following week.
The complaint from One Million Moms reads,” The non-binary and transgender feast on display this Thanksgiving may be brought to you by Macy’s during their every sponsored Thanksgiving Day Parade.” Tens of millions of home viewers could be exposed to the liberal LGBTQ agenda if they are n’t warned about this year’s holiday parade.
Newsweek sent an email to the A and Macy’s festival planners for comment on Monday.
In its complaint, One Million Moms lists some of the players it finds offensive. This includes Justin David Sullivan, a transgender non-binary performer who may appear in the Broadway musical Juliet and did identify as such.
According to the petition, Sullivan turned down the opportunity to compete for the 2023 Tony Awards because he did n’t like how gender-based the awards were.
Alex Newell, a gender-neutral actor who appeared in the Broadway music Shucked, even offended One Million Moms. But, it’s not clear if Newell will take the stage at the Macys rally this year.
Another well-known trans person who attended the rally was included in the petition’s signature. One Million Moms described Kim Petras ‘ performance as the first transgender celebrity to take part in the Macy’s parade in 2021 as a symbolic ending to” this again family-friendly holiday history.”
” Shame on Macy’s for supporting and promoting this kind of pleasure.” Macy’s Department is also untrustworthy. store,” the complaint concluded. It is obvious that Macy’s is certainly looking out for the best interests of our kids. Macy needs to understand that confidence may be earned and that it is challenging to regain lost trust.
The Advocate pointed out that One Million Moms had previously criticized American Girl for selling a figurine with “lesbian uncles” and Toy Story 4 for an image that they claimed implied two mothers were raising the child.
