A Fox News reporter claimed that there is a” planned work” in progress to replace God with trans people.
Media character and Fox News network Lisa Boothe made the odd assertions during a panel discussion where visitors discussed Joe Biden’s new acknowledgment of Trans Day of Visibility.
Biden became the first US president to publicly recognize the internationally recognized time, which is observed on March 31 each year to honor trans people’s efforts and life.
Republicans were upset about the coincidence that Trans Day of Visibility this year occurred on Easter Sunday, which led to accusations by right-wing critics that transgender people were trying to subvert Christian beliefs.
Guest Alicia Acuna opened by saying that there had been “piling on” by Christians against Biden’s declaration in a section on Fox News ‘” The Big Weekend Show.”
She then read out a quotation from secretary of state, Antony Blinken, who was erroneously attributed as “homeland safety secretary”, in which he honoured Trans Day of Visibility.
The discussion was then brought up by Lisa Boothe, who claimed that she thought the identification of Trans Day of Visibility was a” clear work” to “remove God from our society” and replace him with “false Gods.”
” With this instance, it’s the transgender community”, she said. They” clearly want us to bow at the altar of the trans community” as opposed to “bowing ] to God.
The fact that the trip fell on the same day as Easter is only a coincidence despite Boothe and Fox News ‘ commitment to stopping the seemingly pious troops of the transgender community – having covered the discussion for more than a year with dedicated periods of coverage on it.
Easter Sunday falls on the first Sunday after the full moon, which falls on or after the spring equinox, and falls on the same day of the year. Because that day happened to be 31 March, it fell on the same day as Trans Day of Visibility.
Right-wing media outlets like Fox News have continued to use the coincidence as a justification for spreading anti-trans rhetoric despite this obvious fact.
Several of the channel’s hosts have accused the Biden administration of “waging spiritual warfare against Christianity”, ignoring that Biden himself is a Christian, while others have claimed the” trans thing is over” because, in their eyes, the US has “accommodated the trans for quite some time”.
