Information from Hoosiers to Trans Youth

Trans Awareness Week is a month that honors our trans community and spreads awareness of its problems.

Individuals who identify as trans say that being transgender is wonderful. Society’s issues are not caused by transgender identity; rather, they are brought on by obstacles to living honestly and openly.

Lawmakers have been particularly focusing on trans children, restricting their ability to fully participate in public life by limiting their access to healthcare, forbidding them from participating in school sports, and banning articles about LGBTQ people in classrooms.

A dozen child trans Hoosiers want to convey the following information to trans junior in Indiana:

You have the right to be who you are in any area, transgender children.

-Emily ( she/her ), Terre Haute

” You are not defined by the people who attack you.” The people making fun of you do n’t know who you really are. They are unaware of your travels, where you’ve been, the emotions you look, your memories, or your sobs. Keep in mind that you are not alone and that someone knows and loves you.

Brownsburg, Noah ( he/him )

” I have been where you are, as have some. We’ll try to lessen your anguish when we can. However, it’s crucial that you and others like you survive.

Terre Haute ( she/her )-Lara

” You are true, and you deserve the right to occur and take up space,” is my information to transgender children.

Fishers, Trevor ( he/him )

” I want transgender children to know that they are cherished and have a significant impact on society.” Societies will value and honor you for who you are.

Trillium ( they/he ), Lafayette

” Your community and family value and cherishes you for who you truly are.”

-Melanie ( she, her, and hers ) Bloomington
