A Navy SEAL appeared at a school board meeting in Southern California on Tuesday and warned that parents like him would defund the educational system if administrators did n’t stop “radical gender ideology.”
However, Bryce Henson introduced himself as Ben Richards, the person who founded SoCal Parent Advocates rather than using his true name. The Operating Man, in which Arnold Schwarzenegger frequently makes his rabble-rousing rounds across the condition at right-wing rallies and government meetings, is the source of the surname. Henson stopped at the Escondido Union High School District on this special evening.
Henson, the father of two elementary school students and a former Marine, declared,” Our goal is to introduce, concern, and resist extreme female philosophy, critical race theory, vaccine and mask tyranny in SoCal schools.” I do n’t oppose the LGB. I’m no against transgender people.
He went on to say that the transgender flag “does n’t think loving who you just want to enjoy, I wish it did.” It entails transforming the combination into a stripper pole and desecrating our revered spiritual symbols! He was mocked by some viewers members, but he was unfazed.
Legitimate proposals are what we need, he said, to lower the temperature.
Henson himself has n’t shown any evidence of calming down for someone facing a military investigation into alleged ties to extremist organizations like the Proud Boys.
These comments came weeks after KPBS, a PBS place in San Diego, revealed the defense was investigating whether he had broken its rules against taking part in fundamentalist activities.
We are looking into allegations that a member of the Naval Special Warfare service may be supporting or participating in fundamentalist causes, the spokesperson for the company told The Daily Beast and other media.
Cooperation with love or fundamentalist groups of any kind is contrary to the core values of the Navy and is not tolerated by NSW, they continued, adding that while sailors are often permitted to exercise their rights to freedom of speech and council if they follow the law and plan restrictions.
” We will not release certain information about the ongoing investigation as a matter of plan.” As we carry out this investigation, we kindly ask for the government’s patience and understanding. Providing a good and only process for all parties involved is our top priority.
Henson declined to comment when The Daily Beast contacted him on Friday. Henson wrote in a language,” I wish I was.” It’s just not a good idea, he said in an Instagram message, adding,” I wish I could speak more. I do n’t mind talking to our friends in the press.
Alternatively, Henson shared a SoCal Parent Advocates speech that used his fictitious name to refer to him.
” No one speaks in this manner. This is undoubtedly a military man.
The statement starts, “KPBS published an article with the assistance of a “violent Antifa part” who was “using faked images” to target” Ben Richards” on the day of our favorite Marine Corps Birthday and Veterans Day.” Kelly Stuart, the alleged” Antifa member,” is a native watchdog of far-right activities in California and denies participating in the anti-facist political action or editing any images. I contest my status as Antifa. I am an aunt, she informed us.
According to the speech,” Concerned kids worried about their family’s health and desiring clarity regarding their younger children are frequently singled out and targeted by people associated with the Teachers Union and connected with Antifa.”
Ben is already involved in an ongoing research, so comments are not permitted. He is nevertheless certain that the inspection will clear him of any wrongdoing, showing that he has only ever been a loving and concerned father and, in his own right,” a hero for knowingly taking the risk to assist parents under attack.”
Henson enlisted in the Navy in May 2010 and has won numerous honors and accessories, including the Great Conduct Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Award, and the Iraq Campaign Medal.
Henson was assigned to SEAL Team 6, or the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, in Virginia, according to KPBS in 2015. The next year, he went back to the West Coast. His work place in Coronado, California, is listed as the Naval Special Warfare Center as of April of this year.
Henson spent the summer speaking out in favor of the contentious parental notification laws that out transgender students to their parents or guardians and were adopted by a number of California school boards, including the Chino Valley Unified School District.
Henson charged the teacher’s union with making “rainbow badges” that read,” You’re safe with me because you are n’t safely with your parents,” during a contentious July board meeting in Chino. You do n’t have to tell them that we can have sex. He asserted that parents must stand up for drag shows featuring “grown men dressed like strippers” under the pleasure symbol.
” We’re on the verge of a major issue. He yelled into the microphone,” It requires fortitude, perseverance, and drive.” ” We’re not going to give up.”
Henson was highlighted by the Los Angeles Times in an article titled” How conservatives are waging a coordinated, anti- LGBTQ+ culture war in California schools” in October.
Henson was described by The Times as a 37-year-old military physician who started moving to other school districts after failing to advance in San Diego County, where he currently resides. He explained that what was once done for his own safety was now an ideological concept when the outlet questioned why he went by the name” Ben Richards.”
He advised Transgender people not to object to his decision to “identify” as a hypothetical protagonist if they would prefer that he “respect their insane identity.” Henson told the Times,” If they do n’t call me that, they’re bigots because I identify as a male lion with the pronouns [are ] Lion Daddy.”
Henson’s looks at events like the Infants Lives Matter protest in Santa Monica in July 2022 and an anti-trans protest in Santee in January of this year have been chronicled by Stuart, a photographer and writer who documents the far-right activity in Southern California. Henson was seen in some pictures standing next to a Proud Boys activist and member who was present at the Jan. 6 uprising.
This summer, she also took pictures of Henson protesting outside of a Glendale class board meeting that ended in murder as Proud Boys and protesters clashed with Gay activists. He was dressed in the” Dad Army” shirt and lightweight microphone and amplifier.
Stuart told The Daily Beast that his initial interaction with me was “pretty hostile.” But eventually, we sort of got along with each other in jest. Like, we may laugh while only giving each other shit. However, despite the fact that he says,” I’m not against the LGB,” which is one of the comments I always hear from him, I thought a lot of damage could be done to him because of his extreme transphobia. He omits the letter T.
Stuart photographed the men near Henson, some of whom were sporting the Proud Boys ‘ distinctive black and yellow colours, as Military .com reported. One of the men had several Nazi tats, and the other was wearing a” stand back and have by” jacket in reference to former President Donald Trump’s unwillingness to denounce far-right extremists during their controversy with Joe Biden.
Stuart is part of a group of experts that looks into extremism and school board problems, and after hearing concerns about Henson’s aggressive behavior at public gatherings, they started to look into who” Ben Richards” really was.
Henson appears to have found a tribe of people who regard him and even defend his behavior, according to one of those researchers, who requested anonymity for her own safety. She remarked,” He’s a nice radicalizer.” ” He’s skilled at making people despise him as well.”
The gay person who represents the LGBTQ community claimed that Henson’s actions have brought together educators and Californians who have come into contact with him.
She found an account for another Schwarzenegger figure named Douglas Quaid from Total Recall when she started looking up the SoCal Parent Advocates Facebook website. Finally, a Reddit user who also appears to be Henson—AlanDSchaefer—was discovered by her group. This user seems to refer to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Predator character. He’s using many names rather than just one, she said.
The person who appears to be Henson feedback on a picture of him making comments at an San Diego school board meeting in the Reddit feedback. The account stated,” Of course I do n’t agree with the pedo club,”” The strategy here was to come off as so fkn reasonable that another refusal ( I’ve been dealing with it for months ) would seem so absolutely unreasonable so that I can use this to galvanize voters down here in SD.”
” Assist me!” Please share what you are doing in your area as I have lots more videos of me brow-besting [sic ] authorities. He continued,” I’ve been trying to get help around, but nobody is helping me. However, we are setting up our footwear, but if you’re interested in helping, please let me know because I’m not going to stop.
Black Lives Matter is viewed as a cultural hate group BY RAIAL HATE GROUP, the account said in retaliation for the comment that was posted on Reddit and was linked to the news article about the neo-Nazi group in Colorado.
How many dark people have died and how many small companies have been destroyed in riots and protests over the past year? Written by AlanDSchaefer. How many black people perished in the neo-nazi protests, and how many small companies were destroyed?
The scholar expressed her opinion that Henson has a right to free speech but is troubled by the way he “reduces the homosexual community to son’s pull shows.”
She continued,” I believe he is blending people’s perceptions of what fanaticism actually is with extreme hate speech to make it seem more like a popular opinion that is acceptable for Navy SEALS to hold.”
Henson was one of the protesters outside the neighborhood YMCA in Santee who was outraged by the laws allowing trans people to use the bag areas that fit their gender identity. The protests were sparked by a 17-year-old woman’s complaint that she was scared after briefly observing an transgender woman in the facility at he city council meeting.
Traditional news outlets and regional activists quickly became aware of the situation. Henson revealed his affiliation with the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA ( TPUSA ) at a Jan. 21 protest outside the YMCA while speaking from an elevated platform covered in the Christian flag.
He told the audience that anyone wishing to move their school boards to the proper may get assistance from TPUSA, who he had contacted. He claimed to have turned four local school board liberal and said,” We’re making headway on the institutions we flipped.”
They can assist you and offer best include, Henson continued. ” We need to include these counter-narrative parties.”
Stuart thought,” This language is uncommon… Nobody speaks like this,” as he recorded his speech. This is undoubtedly a military man.
Stuart claimed that finally, someone came across what might have been Henson’s first commentary on a school board meeting in which he used his real name.
Henson identified himself as a senior, tee-ball manager, and father of two young children when he took the floor at the San Diego Unified School District Board of Education in May of last year.
It’s my second day, he said. ” This is something I’ve always done earlier.” Then he requested to be informed if his children participate in any clubs or recreational activities, but specifically a” student lesbian, gay, lesbian, transgender, gay, questioning, intersex, ally, and transgender club.”
He raised his arms and said,” I know what you’re thinking.” This guy is most likely a right-winger. a large, attractive white man with an American symbol tattooed on his finger who is brown. That is untrue. Nothing is opposed to the club. Only let me know if they show up, please.
