On the National Transgender Day of Remembrance, the Rochester area comes together to pay tribute to the patients.

New York, Rochester Folks gathered at MLK Park in Rochester on Monday to commemorate National Transgender Day of Remembrance in order to honor trans people who have lost their lives to death, death, or abuse in the previous 12 months.

The event’s promoters claim that trans individuals are murdered more frequently and that the majority of the patients are people of color.

With legislation being introduced across the position that targets members of the Gay society, they claim that having a place to support them is especially crucial.

According to Javanah David, founder and president of Wave Women Inc.,” We are the creation that is fighting for our future, and we want to let them know that there are people like us across the nation who are not forgetting who they are, what they’re going through, or trying to make that change.”

According to Next Generation Men of Transition founder and president Brittan Hardgers,” trans lives matter, so we are doing this job, obvious, seen, and heard.”

On Sunday night, the team will gather at the Liberty Pole to hold a celebration for trans people who have experienced violence.
