In order to better understand the rules protecting transgender kids and all individuals, about 50 people showed up for a table research conference on Monday night at Sonora Union High School District.
“Students’ Rights Regarding Gender Identity” was presented by Georgelle Cuevas of the law firm Atkinson, Andelson. Loya, Ruud, and Romo Attorneys at Law. It included summaries of federal and state laws addressing sex discrimination and gender identity, as well as protection for transgender students’ gender identities and facility use and participation in sports.
