A jury has heard that a 16-year-old girl who was accused of killing transgender teenager Brianna Ghey in Warrington’s park denied having anti-gay sentiments and claimed she found the teenager beautiful.

However, the girl, who went by the name X to protect her identity, testified before the jury that her “very good friend” and co-defendant, a 16-year-old boy named Y, “did n’t exactly agree with people who were trans or people that were gay.”

She asserted that this explains why, in the days leading up to the murder at Culcheth Linear Park on Saturday, February 11, this time, the son often referred to Brianna as “it” more than” she.”

The child testified on Friday in front of a camera in Manchester Crown Court that she had questioned her own sex identity and had communicated with online users under the guise of Nathan.

According to the trial, she told Brianna through the Nathan alter ego that he was a seller who intended to sell them heroin on the day of the death.

The 16-year-old lady denies crime and accuses Y of stabbing Brianna 28 days.

She pretended to want to eliminate Brianna and other kids as part of several “fantasies,” but she never “had any intention” of hurting anyone. She told the jury that she would fantasize about death and torture.

The woman admitted to enjoying watching videos of torture and death on the dark web when her attorney Richard Pratt, KC questioned her.

At the age of 14, she claimed to have developed an interest in “dark materials,” specifically murder, rape, and serial killers.

The various personalities of serial murders and the various ways they do carry out, she said,” simply found it interesting.”

She acknowledged telling Y that she had killed two people, including a boy named” Laydon,” but she brushed it off as “fantasy.”

When asked why she revealed to Y that she had killed” Laydon,” Girl X replied,” I wanted him to believe I was a prolific criminal.” Only to spice up the dream world even more.

She insisted Laydon was a real person who hung out with boys she did n’t like and acknowledged reporting him to the police in May 2022 on suspicion of stalking her. According to what the judge has heard, the authorities were unable to locate everyone who fit her description.

Brianna and Girl X allegedly became pals after meeting in October. Because neither of us enjoyed socializing much, she said, the two of them may stand out together. When asked if she thought Brianna was attractive, she replied,” Yes, I did.”

She reportedly told Y that she was “obsessed” with Brianna, according to information the judge has already heard. She said,” I’m not too sure why I said that,” while providing testimony through an entity. Perhaps I was at a loss for comments. I thought she was quite fascinating.

When asked why Y referred to Brianna as “it,” she replied,” He did n’t exactly agree with people who were trans or gay, so he would refer to her as’it’ rather than she.”

Pratt questioned her,” Did you have anti-transgender views at that level or at any other step?” She retorted,” No.”

She continued,” I found her exciting, and we just got along well.”

X allegedly tried to poison Brianna with ibuprofen a few weeks prior to her death, according to information the prosecutor had recently learned. Brianna was but ill at the time, according to her mother Emma Ghey, that she believed she had appendicitis.

However, X testified that he had not given Brianna any naproxen. She claimed that she and Brianna visited Asda and “bought strange supplements” to” see which would render us high,” but she denied ever trying to poison her covertly. She claimed that because she had” suicidal thoughts,” she looked up whether it was possible to overdose on ibuprofen.

Additionally, X admitted to the jury that she used weapons as a” coping system” to harm herself when she was anxious and had sought assistance from mental health services for children and adolescents.

She admitted to talking about killing a son named E, whom Boy Y called” a “nonce.” She admitted to the judge that E had been messaging an 11-year-old woman and that she had created a false Instagram account with the intention of using it to “ask him about the Year 6 girl.”

She insisted, however, that she had never intended to kill E.

On Monday, the trial may begin.
