The” Maha Lakshmi scheme,” which offers free travel for women, girls, and transgender people, was introduced by the Congress government in Telangana on Thursday.
The” 6 Guarantees- Maha Lakshmi” system has officially begun, according to a press release from the Transport Department of the Government of Telangana.
The Congress group released its Manifesto for Telangana on September 18 and announced the Maha Lakshmi plan. According to the plan, the Congress party may give people in Telangana completely bus rides and Rs. 2500 each month as part of the Mahalaxmi Yojana.
Revanth Reddy, the fresh deputy minister of Telangana, took the oath of office and on Thursday, he ratified all six of the Congress party’s promises.
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation ( TSRTC ) operates state-run Palle Velugu and express buses that are operated within the boundaries of the state. The Maha Lakshmi program aims to offer free transportation to girls, women of all ages, and transgender people.
The program will go into effect on December 9, 2023.
Women, women of all ages, and transgender people living in Telangana are the target audience for the program.
From December 9, 2023, they can take Palle Velugu and Express cars somewhere within the boundaries of Telangana State.
The participants will be able to go in interstate Express and Palle Velugu cars for completely up to the borders of Telangana State.
According to the transfer, the Telangana government will pay TSRTC back for the taxable fares that would have been assessed based on how far women passengers actually traveled.
The” Maha Lakshmi” system must be effectively implemented, so the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of TSRTC are tasked with taking additional essential steps and issuing detailed directions.
Additionally, the release stated that plans are being made to create a software-based” Maha Lakshmi” bright card, offering an easy and effective way to take advantage of the program in the future.
