Susan Ellen “Zoe” Lofgren, a US member from San Jose, California, is seeking reelection in the newly drawn 18th Congressional District in 2024. She has served in Congress since 1994.
The city combines aspects of Silicon Valley’s Big Tech with the agricultural sector of the area, with a sizable Latino population in between.
Lofgren wants to connect with Latino voters, who make up about 65 percent of the electorate in her restored area.
Kids Are the Best?
Transgender children’s rights, including their exposure to estrogen therapy at a young age, are among the topics that Lofgren is passionate about but may not be well-liked by Latinos.
Lofgren acknowledges that authoritarian, retrogressive parents, especially those from Catholic Latino neighborhoods, try to stifle their kids ‘ ability to transition by holding onto their own outmoded fears or values.
Lofgren rejects the idea that because kids naturally understand their personal gender identity, parents know best.
Lofgren’s treatment of kids is not funny. She advocates for obedience to California’s state legislation, which forbid people under the age of 21 from consuming alcohol or drugs. According to Lofgren, the legal age of consent for physical activity in California is 18, as younger people might not be mature enough to make choices that could have life-altering repercussions like conception.
Do Kids Hear Their Gender Personality?
But, Lofgren thinks that kids have the intelligence and discernment to know if their female identification does not match the gender they were given at birth.
Lofgren is well aware that while parents influence a child’s genetic makeup, they do not control the personality or heart of the child.
She encourages the use of health interventions to aid in children’s shift starting at age 13, quite as puberty blockers.
Does Kids Choose to Clean Themselves?
Critics point out that there hasn’t been enough thorough research and clinical trials to fully understand the long-term effects of hormone therapy and surgeries, including potential impacts on fertility and cognitive development.
The proponents of Lofgren counter that it is impossible to say with certainty that all children who undergo these treatments will go infertile.
Lofgren is aware that Catholic Latinos who are backward, conservative, narrow-minded, ignorant, and hateful want their kids to delay until they are adults before changing their bodies to look to be someone else’s sex.
Lofgren is aware that a child born in one person’s body but identifying as another female at the heart degree may continue to resemble their baby gender, rather than their identified gender physically, if puberty blockers aren’t taken prior to or right after pubery.
Lofgren favors adhering to the advice of the professionals.
Does kids choose to have their sexual organs amputated?
The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) advises against performing surgeries before the child is between the ages of 15 and 17. These procedures include the removal of a young woman’s penis (penectomy) and testicles (orchiectomy), as well as the double mastectomy, uterus, and ovaries (bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy).
It will take a lot of work to convince Lofgren that the Catholic Latinos are mistaken when it comes to their knowledge.
Some children have been trapped in the wrong sex as a result of their mistaken belief that their child is an “gift from God” and that God knows best what sex to ascribe to them at birth.
Oddly enough, many Latinos have been brainwashed to the point where, as adults, they truly expressed gratitude to their parents for forbidding them from “mutilating” their bodies when they were “foolish, young children.”
Lofgren has a lot of work ahead of her in reversing these outdated ideas about families who are “transphobic.”
Denounce prejudice
However, if Lofgren’s achievement at a House Judiciary Committee hearing is any indicator, she is capable of influencing the conservative Latinos who just moved into her area with her progressive views.
Showdown
Following Gail Heriot of the United States Commission on Civil Rights’ written witness, Lofgren responded angrily to him in May 2016 during a House Judiciary Committee reading. Heriot said in part in her witness:
The purpose of the federal government’s Transgender Guidance is to demonstrate that an anatomical adult student who “identifies” as feminine actually qualifies as a woman in some meaningful ways. However, at that point, we are moving into an Alice-in-Wonderland setting.
We are imparting a horrible training to children. Even if my friends and acquaintances are willing to give in to my fantasy, just because I think I’m a Russian princess doesn’t make me one. Furthermore, I am not a great horned owl only because, as I have been told, we have some personality similarities.
With very few instances, sexual is binary, with one being either male or female.
Lofgren: I don’t usually call out witnesses, but I have to say that I found this to be rather offensive, and it suggests to me that the witness really doesn’t know anything and likely has never met a transgender child who is going through, in almost every case, very difficult experience finding themselves. You know, I find it extremely tragic and extremely disrespectful that that comment was made public. I’d like to request you a problem right now.
Heriot: Well, may I please comment on that?
Lofgren: It’s only my mind, not mine.
Heriot: I believe you’ll discover that many people find the Department of Education’s assertion that they can inform schools to be extremely unpleasant.
Lofgren: I believe you, princess, are a narcissist! I consider you to be an uneducated narcissist. I consider you to be a sociopath who is ignorant and anti-gay.
Steve King, president: A gentleman from California will pause. You’re out of sync.
Lofgren: She’s out of sync.
Chairman: In this committee, names are not called, and you won’t be acknowledged for doing so.
Mr. Chairman, Lofgren. It’s my turn now, and I just want to say that while we allow witnesses to make offensive remarks, I cannot stand by and let that kind of prejudice go uncontested. I don’t want to engage in a discussion about it right now.

Lofgren: I’m not sure.
Lastly, a comment
Regarding Lofgren’s position on transgender rights for children, some people commented. The high level of sterility among trans people was mentioned by a supporter who shared the gender he was given at birth. He continued by saying it was unfortunate that Zoe Lofgren’s mother didn’t become a man before giving birth to her.
A kid encouraged by doctors and professionals to have their genitalia removed so they can identify with something they are not medically but somehow you be—a various sex—was compared by Zoe Lofgren to a great winged owl.
