After being detained in a male detention facility on Rikers Island, where she is alleged to have been assaulted and persecuted, the transgender woman is now suing the City of New York for $22 million.
From June 14 to July of the same year, Ali Miles, also known as Dylan, was held at Rikers Island. Eventually, she was moved to Arizona.
In June 2022, Miles was accused of a number of offenses, including aggravated harassment, false reports of crimes, and stalking at the criminal level.
For the alleged rape, physical abuse, and abuse she reportedly endured in the prison, Miles is suing the New York City Department of Correction, the city’s health and hospitals firm, as well as a few other people.

The Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) of 2003, which aims to reduce and eliminate rape incidents in prison facilities, is cited in the lawsuit.
The petition document, which Fox News Digital obtained on Saturday after filing it in August 2023, proves Miles was born a natural man but claims to be transgender.
According to the lawsuit, Miles “wears women’s apparel and in all appearance shows as a man of the adult gender.”
Miles was “placed in a people’s housing product despite her complaints, court orders, and her calls to be housed with women,” according to the complaint. The plaintiffs “delayed and denied her access to healthcare,” according to Miles ‘lawyer.

According to the document, “Miles was raped/sodomized on two (2) separate occasions by the same male inmate, was assaulted and beaten by that male assailant, resulting in fractured ribs, and suffered permanent blindness as a result of being doused in the face with chemicals.” She suffered severe and long-lasting injury as a result of everything.
“Defendants ‘unlawful behavior was a direct result of [Rikers’] pervasive practices and customs of discrimination against transgender people, as well as their deliberate indifference.
Additionally, Miles ‘attorney claimed that New York authorities “ignored her repeated requests for assistance and protection from the dangers and physical abuse to which they had exposed her.”
The lawsuit claims that a corrections officer told Miles that “We don’t do the trans thing here,” which is against the law in terms of civil rights.
