Advocates for LGBTQ rights have filed a lawsuit in New Orleans (AP) to stop the state’s new ban on transgender health care procedures, such as hormone therapy, gender reassignment surgery, and drugs that prevent puberty in children under the age of 18. Five Louisiana adolescents and their parents, who were named in the complaint under aliases, were represented by Lamda Legal and different attorneys. According to a media release from Lamda Legal, the lawsuit is currently pending in New Orleans ‘Louisiana district court.
