Posie Parker’s “Let Women Speak” rally in Edinburgh on 6 April was met by a large counter-protest.
A significant counter-protest was held in Edinburgh yesterday (6 April) to support a “Let Women Speak” rally organized by transgender activist Kellie Jay Keen-Minshull, who also goes by Posie Parker.
According to The Telegraph, Keen-Minshull claimed the march was to “test the legislation” in light of Scotland’s fresh hate crime laws, which have already been challenged by Scotland-based Harry Potter writer JK Rowling.
In a number of mispronounced social media posts on April 1st, Rowling described “every past one of them” as “men,” referring to transgender activists, public characters, and convicted sexual offenders.
The Telegraph’s content about the Posie Parker/Keen-Minshull rally read, “Feminists accuse pro-trans activists of ‘intimidation’ on the British march,” was the headline of the article. Keen-Minshull has asserted on numerous occasions that she is not female.
Pro-transgender organizations, including Cabaret Against the Hate Speech ( CAHS), which describe themselves as” an LGBTQ+ group that organizes counter protests against all forms of hate speech across Scotland through live music, song, and dance, were against the Edinburgh rally, which started at 1pm.
Many guests on both sides tweeted that the Cabaret’s music had “drowned out” the gender-critical event after the group banged drums and played music during the” Allow Women Talk” rally.
