Once more, Caitlyn Jenner has entered the debate about transgender participation in sports.
Caitlyn Jenner, a former Olympian and Fox News critic, has stated that transgender women are not “real women” and that gene testing should be reinstated in all sports.
Since coming out publicly as transgender in 2015, Jenner, 74, has courted discussion for her views on the transgender community.
Jenner, who won the gold medal at the 1976 Summer Games in Montreal, has been outspoken about restricting transgender athletes from competing in women’s athletics, has criticized “woke culture,” and has decried the “radical rainbow mafia” – whatever that is.
Jenner and ex-Olympic diver Sharron Davies, who likewise campaigns against transgender inclusion in sports, co-authored an exclusive feature for The Telegraph.
The pair recalled the sex tests they had to take in order to compete and recalled their Olympian careers.
Because people can’t change their biological sex, Davies said, “I have a little card from 1976 that was a sex screen, and it’s so simple. You just swab the inside of your mouth once in a lifetime.”
Jenner claimed that if we “continue down this road it will very much be the end of women’s sports as we know it” and that she has been “pushing” for gender tests to return to the game.
“[I’m] someone who went through a complete change and I can still hit a golf ball 280 yards,” Jenner continued.
“I know the effects of [female] hormones on the body, it does have a little bit of an effect but it’s not a major effect, and certainly not enough to make it even.”
During the course of the discussion, Jenner went on to comment on femininity, acknowledging that some trans folks didn’t completely agree with her views.
“They keep saying, ‘Oh, I’m a real person, I’m a real person’ and I’m going, ‘No, you’re not,'” said Jenner.
“I may use your chosen pronouns, I will treat you as a female, you can run and dress and do whatever you want, I have nothing against that, it’s good, but medically you’re still male.”
She added: “Let me explain – I am biologically male, OK? I’m XY. There’s nothing I can do to change that. If you believe in gender dysphoria, and I think most people do realize it’s not a disease, it’s a mental condition, just like some people are left-handed and some people are right-handed, it’s kind of the way you’re born and I’ve dealt with it my entire life.
“I still have a genetic male ancestor, and I changed everything on my birth certificate, which makes me technically female, but I am also aware that I am not.”
The interview comes as Lamar Odom, Jenner’s ex-son-in-law, is scheduled to air a new podcast called Keeping Up With Sports.
Sugar Ray Leonard will be the guest star of the first episode of the new show, which the pair will host alongside Zach Hirsch.
