The Memento Cycles Heart sand motorcycle took first place in the People’s Choice class at the – based in Philadelphia – last year, and it’s truly an eye-stopper, so let’s take a look…
“That body is really lovely to me,” says Éliane Trudeau of, based in Montreal, Canada.
It is a show of love for the Gay cycling community. Most of the time, we go unrecognized, so I wanted to take a walk with a vehicle that just may be looked over.
The center on the plate is a pillar of passion for the trans community, and the colors were chosen to match the color scheme of the trans flag, which includes light blue and light green stripes separated by thin white stripes. I try to be a powerful figure for marginalized populations as they age because picture is critical for them.
The body is made using a combination of and steel pipes, along with some immediately 4130 chromoly tube. It has a 42mm down pipe and a 47mm mind tube.
“That bike took a lot of time to create since we put in a lot of extra features: the interior routing for the rear brake and rear derailleur, the quad triangle, the twin seatstay bridges trapping that hourglass eyelet, the more twisted tubes, and the incorporated rack,” says Éliane.
Ronny Perez Jaramillo and I actually put in the extra time to make sure it would stand out.
Of course, a triple square style, with the seatstays extending beyond the seat tube to meet the best tubes, is nothing new. On modern scooters from well-known brands like,, and many others, there is something a little related.

A twice seatstay gate and an eyelet positioned between them are present in the body. Both rims are through-wheel.
The Memento Processes framework is built up with a 1x (one chainring) 11-speed gearbox, with a SRAM derailleur, ring, and switch. The disk brakes aren’t from SRAM, while, they’re Shimano: flat-support at the back and ISO at the front.
The vehicle has a Zipp stem and a handlebar that is 50cm drop, while the bike has both.
The 650B tires, built by, apply WTB KOM edges and they’re fitted with Super Yummy wheels in a 2.22in length.
The beautiful crankset is available in lengths as short as 100 mm, CNC-machined aluminum. Those are on there.

“It was intimidating to go to such a prominent vehicle present for our two-yr-ancient company,” says Éliane. “There were some legendary builders there, like,, and Mars, so we really thought we would be overshadowed. It is truly an honor to have won motorcycle first place. We are beyond happy”.
