The organization also mandated that Monarch Principal James Cecil and Athletic Director Dione Hester attend rules conformity seminars over the course of the following two summers, and that by July, the school has host an on-campus staff seminar.
Recently, the school district suspended the tennis coach pending the results of its research and briefly reassigned Cecil, Hester, Norton, and the associate athletic director.
Norton thanked the students and others who had protested on their behalf after the party’s reassignments.
Norton stated in a statement from last week that “our community’s outpouring of love and assistance… has been inspiring, noble, and brave.” The light guiding us through this darkness has been so joyful for our home as we have witnessed our group’s tolerance and display of love.
