Former Boeing individual files a lawsuit against the business, alleging she was subject to discrimination because she is transgender.

Rachel Rasmussen claims that her physical assault was caused by supervisors who tolerated a dangerous lifestyle.

EVERETT, WA — Rachel Rasmussen filed a lawsuit against Boeing after a decades-long job there. She claims Boeing’s management and personnel allegedly violated the Washington Law Against Discrimination by creating a hostile work environment. She claims that her monitoring harassment was the result of retaliation against the WLAD.

Rasmussen said her transition to living as a lady began in 2010 when she made the decision to connect her physical appearance with her gender identity.

” I was five years old. Even though accepting who I am is a longer history on its own, I was unable to live with that pain by 2010. She said,” I just wanted it to stop.”

Following a job with Boeing that began in 1989, this transition occurred. Rasmussen was promoted to Crane Mechanic by Boeing in 2007 after years of service. She anticipated that it would be her employment until she retired.

” That job was really enjoyable. Features and page maintenance are what I did for a job,” Rasmussen said. ” You’ve likely seen the excavators carrying the aircraft parts. That was primarily what I was concentrating on.

Nevertheless, her 2010 change is when the decade-long harassment began, according to the lawsuit. According to the lawsuit, Rasmussen’s coworkers and supervisor often outed her as transgender to new employees, vandalized her property, shouldered her into hallways, told homophobic jokes, and used homophobic slurs. They also claim that Rasmussen’s manager and coworkers made a target on her. Worst of all, the lawsuit claims that Rasmussen was biologically assaulted by a colleague in front of others.

According to Rasmussen,” It was a very humiliating experience where a stick was shoved in my vagina.”

The sexual abuse, according to the petition, was only a small portion of the harassment, with Boeing people accused of grabbing Rasmussen’s mouth, asking about her genitalia, asking if she pees standing, comparing transgender people to psychopaths, and mocking Rasmussen’s gender identity. Rasmussen claimed that her supervisor was aware of the abuse but “gazed on apathetically.”

The lawsuit, which is filed under, includes images of some of the retribution that Rasmussen claims was perpetrated against him, as well as details about the sexual assault and emails Rasmussen received and sent after the incidents.

The attorney for Rasmussen, Jay Free, expressed hope that this will alter Boeing’s society.

” Boeing’s repeatedly made claims about inclusivity, care for their employees, and health that are hollow. It’s about time they put that into practice, he said.

They advise you to voice any kind of problems. My fears were met with silence when I would speak away,” Rasmussen said. Everyone at Boeing and in the position of Washington should feel comfortable coming to work, working in a harassment-free setting, and speaking up about their problems.

Boeing declined to comment when contacted about the complaint.
