According to the Human Rights Campaign, International Transgender Day of Visibility is observed annually on March 31 in honor of the pleasure and endurance of transgender and non-binary people everyday.
There are activities, events and drag shows equally across Des Moines this weekend. Here are a few to watch out for:
Central Iowa Trans Lives Festival
Transgender, genderqueer, non-binary, and gender nonbinary adults and children from Iowa at the center of this third monthly all-ages festival, which honors Transgender Day of Visibility.
Physical arts and arts will be for sale, along with food trucks and kiosks, live music, writing, writing, dancing, move, and comedy shows. The event is available to everyone, and registration and park are free.

Elevate: A Trans Day of Visibility Celebration
A Trans Day of Visibility party and performance is being held at Xbk Live. Transgender and gay artists will perform live shows, as well as free gender-affirming clothing may be distributed by Common Love DSM. Tickets can be purchased at xbklive .com/seetickets.

The Garden’s Transgender Day of Visibility Benefit Show
On March 31, The Garden hosts a gain show to honor and celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility, which will feature transsexual performers from all over Iowa. Online stand reservations are possible, and all fees may be donated. All night long, there will be promotions for drinks and foods.
