A follower of the Republican nomination for governor of North Carolina staged a bizarre yet sophisticated attack on transgender people by displaying a horse in rainbow colors in front of a rally.
At an occasion for North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s (R) gubernatorial campaign, someone painted a donkey rainbow colors, put a unicorn horn on it, and brought it in front of Robinson as he gave a speech. The group laughed.
The prank was that it’s the popular “gender unicorn,” which is used to describe basic vocabulary around LGBTQ+ names. In his 2021 statement at the state’s Republican agreement, Robinson claimed that it was his first time seeing the sex fairy

“I thought to myself, that is not a kaleidoscope unicorn,” Robinson said in 2021. “That is a colored-up, marked-away, dressed-up moron.”
WRAL News said that he insisted that citizens can dress up a horse, but “test its DNA, and it’s an animal.” He therefore called LGBTQ+ persons “demonic” and accused them of forcing their views on children.
One of his followers is said to have remembered that conversation and the colored horse from the Robinson celebration in 2024.
“You found that factor!” Robinson shouted at the gentleman, who was smiling, evidently glad of himself. “What Democrat ‘hellhole’ did you uncover that was there?
“That is a rainbow, patterned up painted dickhead!” he said, promising to tell the “story” behind the horse later. “I can’t believe the impact that story actually made.”
As the November election draws nearer, Robinson’s longer record of incendiary remarks is being highlighted.
In March 2023, Robinson claimed that God had created him to fight LGBTQ+ rights and that it “makes me ill every time I see it — a religion that flies that rainbow flag, which is a strong spit in the face of God almighty.”
In 2017, he wrote on Facebook, “You CANNOT like God and support the queer agenda.”
In a 2021 interview, Robinson compared LGBTQ+ individuals to cow dung and claimed straight people are better off than gay people because of their procreational abilities. In the same speech, he claimed that there are only two genders and disparaged trans people’s bodies: “You are still either one of two things: you’re either a man or a woman.”
He added that those who support events like Drag Queen Story Hour do so because they want to abduct kids.
He has recently stated that homosexuality is a step toward suicide, that former First Lady Michelle Obama is a trans woman in secret, and that transgender people are “devil-worshipping baby molesters.” He likewise condemned gay individuals as an “abominable evil” in response to the 2016 Pulse massacre.
Robinson created an education task force to check and replace LGBTQ+ books from public universities, as well as record instances of LGBTQ+ participation in colleges. Teachers’ names, companies, and data were released unredacted in the statement, yet many of the problems weren’t verified or perhaps authenticated.
Also in 2021, he refused to accept calls for his resignation after he declared that homosexuality and “transsexuals” are “filth”. He has even called the transgender justice movement “demonic” and “full of the heart of Antichrist”.

He also referred to claims that millions of Jews died as a result of the Holocaust as “hogwash”.
