In a new Netflix special, Dave Chappelle aims at Trans Community andamp, Impaired People.

Dave Chappelle is renowned today for upholding his non-PC approach to humor, and his most recent special is no exception. Today’s Netflix premiere of “The Dreamer” caused a stir and sparked discussion among social media users. The special includes several jokes about the trans community, people with disabilities, Will Smith’s renowned Oscar slap, and even Lil Nas X.

On the set of “Man On The Moon,” where the comedian plays Andy Kaufman, Chappelle made a joke about running into Jim Carrey. “I was really upset because all afternoon I had to pretend Jim Carrey was Andy Kaufman because I wanted to meet him. It was unmistakably Jim Carrey. He cited Jim Carrey’s speaking style and said, ‘I could look at him and clearly see it was Jim.’ I say all of that because transgender people make me feel that way.

Danny Brown thinks Dave Chappelle no longer likes him, according to the article.

He eventually made fun of the fact that he had written a play starring a trans woman in an effort to mend his relationship with the trans community. “To be completely honest with you, I’ve been working to mend my relationship with the transgender community because I don’t want them to believe that I dislike them. Do you know how I have been doing this? I wrote a play. I acted. I know that gay people love plays.” The play is about a Black trans woman whose pronoun is, regrettably, ‘n***a,’ and he described it as being very sad but moving. “It’s a tear-jerker, really. She dies of loneliness at the end of the play because white liberals don’t know how to approach her. It’s depressing.”

But Chappelle didn’t end there. He continued by making a joke about how he would now be focusing on disabled individuals. “I’m doing all disabled jokes now,” he said. “I love punching up, but they’re not as organized as the gays.” What do you think of Dave Chappelle’s new Netflix special jokes about transgender people?
