Since a buyer was banned for raising fears about a transgender gym-goer cutting in the women’s locker room, bomb threats have been made at almost 30 Planet Fitness locations, according to an investigation.
Authorities have received reports of alleged weapon threats at least 28 facilities in 11 states, from Connecticut through Alaska, according to Media Matters.
Although no weapons have ever been discovered, the challenges have forced many businesses to take precautions.
Almost 30 Planet Fitness locations nationwide have recently been the target of explosive threats.
The second Planet Fitness location known to be targeted was the one in Fairbanks, Alaska, where Patricia Silva, 67, was suspended for taking a picture of somebody cutting in the women’s locker room.
In a video released on March 13, Silva also expressed her horror, claiming that she raised the alarm because she was concerned about seeing a transgender person “with a penis” walking next to a lady who “could have been 12 years older… [in a handkerchief sort of freaked out that there is a man shaving in her locker room.
The gym brand claimed that Silva violated the company’s policy of taking photos of people in the locker rooms, leading to her suspension, and that its plan allows members to use the services that “best align with their honest, self-reported female identity” in the fallout.

Only two days later, according to KTVF, several firms received an email informing them that bombs had been positioned inside Planet Fitness.
Police did not discover anything in the internet, which stated there was an intent to blow up the tower, and quickly determined that the danger was “true.”
Different more Planet Fitness places were likewise targeted with fake threats as anger spread online.

They include at least four in Rhode Island, four in Mississippi, six in Michigan, three in Alabama, three in Florida, one in Virginia, one in Maryland and another in Kansas, according to Media Matters.
Three facilities in Connecticut even received weapon threats— in Norwich, East Haven and Hamden, the Hartford Courant information.
Gym-goers claimed they were frustrated by the needless emergency.
“I think it’s stupid,” Noah Branch told Action News Jacksonville in Florida.
He warned against speaking out and risking harm to other people’s lives if you have views about them. He also noted that he had spoken with some minor gym-goers whose parents have expressed concerns about them returning to the same place.
Tree, however, stated that he is still planning to travel to the so-called “Judgment Free Zone,” calling it a “great place to work out.”
“It’s not going to prevent us,” he said of him and his partner.
