Anti-LGBT activists have spewed lies for too long by falsely claiming that Gay people are children’s enemies and that they have erased Gay youth’s needed for relevant articles that they can connect to and be inspired by. GLAAD President and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis stated that Olivia has assisted us in closing that crucial gap by creating a proper campaign that draws on the power of famous voices and the real-life experiences of queer trailblazers to help youth. “The gay adults we celebrate and revere were once children, too, and through this battle, we remind the earth that when we take away the rights of LGBTQ young people and refuse them safety, sympathy, and privacy, we risk losing the next fantastic entertainer, or gymnast, or author. Queer and trans kids need our support now, before it’s too late,” Ellis added.

The slogan “protect our kids” has evolved into a rallying call to attack the LGBTQ+ community, which is exactly why we need to dematerialize the rhetoric, according to Lisa Bright, Ogilvy Chief Creative Officer. “We live at a time of misinformation and politicized messaging.” Ogilvy is proud to partner with GLAAD and so many significant voices on this PSA campaign that celebrates coming-of-age stories that anyone can relate to and speaks to the worthiness of everyone,” Bright continued.
