Trans people, according to the Equalities Minister, were “living happily” until some men began to abuse permissive laws to use the restroom or attempt to enter adult prisons.
She also asserted that many such children have been influenced by social media and peer pressure and that treatment like puberty-blocking medications should be” the last resort” for young people questioning their gender.
After being charged with using inflammatory vocabulary, Mrs. Badenoch engaged in aggressive behavior with a Labour MP.
What I find most challenging is that whenever people voice concerns and I suggest that we look into this, I receive numerous problems and insults about being transphobic just for discussing policy, the chancellor urged.
When Mrs. Badenoch appeared before the Women and Equalities Select Committee, she was questioned about her proposal to modify the Equality Act to reflect biological sex rather than gender identity, preventing transgender women [born male ] from using restrooms or changing rooms.
We are now having to consider what we can do to protect women and children because of the behavior of those who are choosing to abuse the rights granted to transgender people, she said, adding that the explanation is pretty ambiguous.
