Netflix offers starring Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle “give pardon for transgender hatred”

Ricky Gervais and Dave Chappelle’s most recent Netflix specials, which once again feature routines mocking the transgender neighborhood, have drawn criticism from British trans comedians.

Two one-hour performances by Gervais and American celebrity Chappelle, two of the most well-known stand-up comedians in the world, debuted next month.

In the week between Christmas and the start of the new year, Gervais ‘ Armageddon present attracted eight million people. The Dreamer, Chappelle’s most recent unique, drew 2.2 million viewers.

The trans community is one of the minority groups that is mocked in both programs. This has sparked an online reaction, and critics have shared videos of another stand-up comedians parodying the type of humor that is Gervais and Chappelle’s signature, including Frankie Boyle and James Acaster.

The Hysteria was co-founded by Allie O’Rourke.
