During the Russian activity of Kherson’s right bank, members of the LGBTQ community were tortured, imprisoned, and sexually abused by the defense.
Individuals were tortured on the grounds of their sexual orientation and gender identity, according to a statement released by the NGO.
The program’s attorneys spoke with 107 LGBTQ people who had been victims or witnesses of Russian crimes between March and September 2023. The document specifically lists eight instances.

A gay home where Diana is a lesbian was discovered by Soviet soldiers with an LGBTQ flag. They punched her in the face with a shotgun mouth, threw a case over her head, and led her away when they learned of her sexual preference. Despite being physically abused and threatened, Diana reportedly consented to providing details about her LGBTQ friends. On another situation, she witnessed the execution of persons held in the confinement heart: only four out of 15 survived.
Nikita, 32, a gay man, was detained by the Russian government for photographing the movement of Russian cars and technology. He was subjected to admonish swimming, electrocuted, and beaten. Nikita lost 20 pounds during his year in prison.
The survivors of these atrocities did not report to the police because they distrusted the program, according to human rights activists. The Office of the Prosecutor General had no records of war crimes committed against LGBTQ individuals in the occupied territories at the time the research was first conducted.
According to other options, the Russians even raped gay people. One of the patients, whose situation is well known to human rights activists, killed himself.
The Soviet occupation’s testimony points to some of the violations of LGBTQ human right that could be committed as war crimes or crimes against humanity.
After interviewing two persons, lawyers from the Projector NGO assisted in drafting statements of a criminal infraction for the Ukrainian attorney’s business, and in one of those cases, the prosecution was transferred to the federal court, the statement said.
