Right-wing celebrities like Elon Musk, Donald Trump Jr., and Libs of TikTok spread false information about current large guns identifying as members of the LGBTQ+ area following a dreadful firing at an Iowa high school.
After the intruder opened fire on pupils returning from their Christmas split at Perry High School near Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday, January 4, a seventh grade student was killed and at least seven others—three team members and four students—were injured.
The 11-year-old Ahmir Jolliff has been named as the middle school student who was killed in the killing, according to a media release from the Iowa Department of Public Safety on Friday.
Dylan Butler, a 17-year-old former student at the higher class, was identified as the gunman. Butler was discovered dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, and according to the company, his method of passing has been determined to be suicide.
Authorities are looking into Butler’s assault purpose and have seized “significant amounts of digital and social media evidence.”
According to law enforcement, the shooter posted numerous times on social media during and after the tragic event. Since then, Butler’s social media accounts have been deleted.
Important traditional characters engaged in spreading conspiracy theories and false information that the Iowa gunman was LGBTQ+ and once again suggested that trans people pose a higher risk of harm to others while Americans mourned the loss of another young man killed and others injured in the wake of savage school shootings.
Butler’s sexuality and gender identity have not been formally discussed by authorities.
On the same day as the Perry High School shooting, Libs of TikTok posted a photo of Butler and an photograph of graffiti that read “love your transgender boys” on X/Twitter. The gunman’s account is said to have liked the photo.
Butler was labeled a “trans genderfluid terrorist” by Chaya Raichik’s Libs of Tiktok account, which also claimed that trans people are “extremists” and “serious threat.”
Lists that incorrectly connected numerous large snipers to the LGBTQ+ community were posted by Raichik and her Libs of TikTok accounts. These statements, according to NBC News, have either been refuted or are still unconfirmed.
Allegations that the “modern LGBTQ+ activity is radicalizing” young folks “into becoming aggressive radicals” were made in the Libs of TikTok article.
In recent years, Raichik and Libs of TikTok have become more well-known in right-wing media and online discussion. Their problems on the LGBTQ+ society grew as their page did.
Increased threats against schools over anti-LGBTQ+ “groomer” claims and hospitals offering gender-affirming care for trans children have been attributed to Libs of TikTok.
Musk expanded Mofs of TikTok’s article by responding with two exclamation points. Trump is no stranger to criticizing the transgender community or spreading anti-LGBT+ conspiracy theories online.
Additionally, he responded to another right-wing article that falsely claimed that the Iowa large shooter was trans and that such incidents were “happening a bunch.”

Following the Iowa school shooting, Riley Gaines, an American former dynamic swimmer who has frequently attacked the transgender community, joined the campaign to spread false information about how dangerous trans people are.
Gaines claimed that trans people and friends are “lashing out” because” they are told DAILY by advertising and our government that they are victims of genocide in response to the Composites of TikTok post alleging that the Iowa sniper identified as trans.
She asserted that these actions will only get worse as long as they are kept in the dark about their oppression.
Despite attempts by conservatives to drive for rumors in the past, there is no reliable evidence to support right-wing claims that shootings committed by transgender people are on the rise.
