A group in WATERTOWN, New York ( WNY ) that supports young people in the LGBTQ+ community gathered on Monday night to remember transgender people who have passed away.
The Transgender Day of Remembrance is observed on November 20.
The Q Center, a division of ACR Health, held its second meeting in honor of the day at Trinity Episcopal Church in Watertown.
Listeners from the neighborhood shared their private tales, and a light vigil was held to honor those who had died in anti-transgender crime.
If someone they know opens up to them, promoters hope that people will support them.
According to Q Center planner Michael Kelly,” Chances are you know or love someone who probably is trans or thinking that they may be trans,” and all they really need is to be that open ear and kind of that affirming available person they know they can appear to whenever they have problems.
According to Q Center representatives, as the organization grows in Watertown, they intend to host more LBGTQ-plus activities.
