This collab is fighting one of the LGBTQ+ society’s biggest fights

A modern care service and a nonprofit organization are collaborating to advance the mental health of the LGBTQ+ community.

The LGBTQ+ society has made numerous efforts to legalize privileges for all gay and non-queer people. However, the diligent efforts to achieve this liberty come with both physical and mental costs. Not to mention, with humanity’s stigma and discrimination towards the LGBTQ+ area for just existing, taking care of person’s mental health is of uttermost importance.

, a global electronic LGBTQ+ care provider, understands this properly and their latest move is move towards bettering emotional wellbeing for LGBTQ+ people. On Tuesday, FOLX Health announced its collaboration with the, a volunteer providing free, personal, text- based cognitive health support 24/7, to overcome the mental health epidemic impacting the LGBTQ+ community. The relationship is anticipated to provide more support to the mental health needs of the LGBTQ+ group because 50 % of Crisis Text Line people identify with the LGBTQ+ community, many of whom do not consistently have access to mental health support.

” At FOLX Health, we recognize the significant challenges our members face, with mental health issues occurring at rates 4- 5 times higher than the common people, and already, we’ve found that our asserting and expert care focused on the needs of the gay community has led to revolutionary outcomes”, Liana Douillet Guzmán, CEO of FOLX Health, said. FOLX is committed to forging a complete medical sanctuary that is available to all in a medical environment that is poorly equipped to meet our needs. Our relationship with Crisis Text Line ensures that no matter what the situation or location, our people have a clear line to trained, cognitive health advisors when they need it.

Anyone who wants to use FOLX services can text FOLX to 741741 to get in touch with a live, volunteer crisis counselor for assistance. Through the expansion of support groups, the expansion of support groups, and community platform events, FolX strengthens its collection of services focused on mental health care support. Aside from mental health care support, FOLX’s services already include primary care, preventative care, gender- affirming care, sexual & reproductive healthcare, and fertility & family- building support.

While all of these resources are needed for LGBTQ+ people, mental health continues to be at the forefront of these support conversations. The report states that “56 % of LGBTQ young people who requested mental health care in the previous year were unable to obtain it.” Additionally, the rise in anti- LGBTQ+ legislation is impacting the health of LGBTQ+ youth. According to the survey, “nearly 2 in 3 LGBTQ young people said that learning about potential state or local laws banning the discussion of LGBTQ people at school made their mental health much worse” and that “nearly 1 in 3 LGBTQ young people said their mental health was either always attributable to anti-LG policies and legislation” ( p.

The new partnership between FOLX Health and Crisis Text Line will make significant strides in improving the LGBTQ+ community’s access to mental health care.

” We are honored to work with FOLX Health to ensure that its members can get free, confidential, and nonjudgmental mental health care anytime of the day,” said Crisis Text Line CEO Dena Trujillo. ” Together, we champion inclusivity, amplify voices, and create safe spaces where every individual’s journey to healing and self- discovery is supported”.
