Tony Khan Interacts to the Oklahoma Athletic Commission’s Consent on using a trans Nyla Rose

The Oklahoma State Athletic Commission issued a “warning” to All Elite Wrestling regarding Nyla Rose competing against other people in their position, as we reported yesterday around on stages.

A motion to inform AEW over a suit in which Rose, a transgender woman, and Alejandra Lion faced off at a set of ROH tapings was unanimously passed by the OSAC in January.

Rose has a lot of followers and wrestling skills, as well as a lot of support.

While speaking at Thursday’s AEW Dynasty 2024 media call, AEW President Tony Khan shared his opinion on the matter.

Below are some features from the internet visit:

Regarding the Oklahoma State Athletic Commission’s alert regarding the Nyla Rose game, “I was truly surprised by this. I didn’t anticipate it, and the commission’s position and that warning obviously disappointed me. I don’t think we did something wrong. I’m really, truly disappointed. Shocked by it. I don’t believe there should be any discrimination against transgender wrestlers or transgender people at all because, you know, they have rights, and I stand by Nyla Rose in this regard. All trans people who want to play activities, including wrestling, are supported by AEW. There is, and there was no issue with it. Nyla Rose is a great fighter. She has been a fantastic world hero, and I adore Nyla. I enjoy collaborating with Nyla. She’s been a great portion of our past. She is a key member of the AEW Up software and the first transgender world champion in history. She does a lot for the area. She’s a wonderful man with a great heart and extremely supportive of the other boxers. I personally have nominated Nyla to TBS for the best social media presence on more than one occasion over the years, and she’s an incredible 2019 going back to the very beginning of AEW, the first displays, and the first Explosives. She’s one of the funniest individuals on social media. And take a look at all that Nyla has accomplished, and simply put that brand on her. She’s much more than that and, you know, she’s a wonderful swimmer and I hope everyone can look at Nila and see that she’s accomplished. A great fighter, a great man, and she deserves the same possibilities as everybody else. And if everyone in the locker room can accept Nyla, I do hope that the Oklahoma Commission could do the same thing, which includes people from all over the globe, from all kinds of origins, from all different ideas. But, bless you.

In addition, I want to mention that Nyla is working with one of our fresh pay-per-view partners to produce the local digital display of AEW Dynasty, PPV.org. The PPV will have a particular guest number for the event, including Nyla. web AEW Dynasty function. Extremely content about that. We were delighted when she accepted the invitation a few weeks ago, and we are all excited about the various ways you can watch this pay-per-view. This event will be the most widely available for domestic supply ever in AEW’s history. For AEW Dynasty, there’s a lot of options. Of course, Nyla is going to be that on PPV. web. We have excellent services with Triller Television, YouTube, and our long-term basic at Bleacher Report. Warner Bros. and Bleacher Report have a lot of our hearts. I’m pleased that Nyla will be hosting that because Discovery is working with AEW to ensure that our fans have a lot of choices to see the pay-per-view. That’s everything that’s been in the works for a while. I believe the world of Nyla and how I feel about it.”

Regarding whether AEW may continue to run Oklahoma, “I am undoubtedly treating this as a developing story. Although it was a little shocked by this, we undoubtedly wanted to give our best to support the fans all over the world and in America by spreading AEW wrestling everyday. We have wonderful enthusiasts. We have wonderful fans all over the country and excellent fans in Oklahoma who are important to us. And so we will do everything in our power to help those enthusiasts. So it’s things we’re going to have to think about, but you know, it’s a good question. Thanks for asking.”
