In its advocacy for transgender health care, the World Professional Association for Transgender Health ( WPATH) is accused of supporting “unethical” medical procedures in a report released on Monday.
Doctors from all over the planet who treat trans patients make up WPATH. One of humankind’s “worst” medical scandals, according to Michael Shellenberger, president of Environmental Progress, led to findings that suggested the philanthropic had pursued a political agenda in its approach to transgender health care.
According to the report, “its approach to medicine is consumer-driven and unscientific, and its people appear to be engaged in political activism rather than science.”

Environmental Progress demands that the United States look into how WPATH gained notoriety despite its alleged disregard for social problems.
WPATH leader Marci Bowers, M. D., stated in a speech to TND that the nonprofit “is and has always been a science- and evidence-based firm whose recommendations are frequently endorsed by big medical businesses around the world.”
” We are the experts who best understand the medical requirements of trans and gender different individuals,” Bowers told TND.” We stand opposed to people who de-legitimize and misrepresent the various identities and intricate needs of this people through scare tactics. ” The small minority of people who are transgender or gender different deserve medical attention, and they will never pose a threat to the gender imbalance globally.”
WPATH removed the time requirements for “gender-affirming” treatments in its advice released in 2022. The firm decided at the time to replace the age cap on based on a person’s puberty stage.
