Utah is the most recent position to limit access to restrooms for trans people.

After its Republican-controlled government passed a bill on Friday mandating that people use restrooms and locker rooms in public schools and government-owned buildings that match their gender assigned at birth, Utah is on track to become the next state to control restroom access for transgender people.

According to the law, transgender people can prove they underwent gender-affirming surgeries and changed the sexual on their birth certificate in order to refute a claim that they are in the wrong bath. Not all states permit birth certificate changes, and some trans people oppose surgery, according to competitors.
