Identity politics: The Ohio Senate is expected to vote Wednesdasy on whether to override Gov. Mike DeWine’s veto of a bill banning transgender minors from receiving care and from trans girls and women participating in women’s sports. If the Senate acts, it will be the final override vote and the bill will go into effect in about 90 days, Laura Hancock and Jake Zuckerman report. A second veto override is also possible Wednesday, this one of a law prohibiting local governments from passing tobacco restrictions stricter than the statewide laws.
