In the future Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the party’s head, Swami Chakrapani, announced Kinnar Mahamandaleshwar Himangi Sakhi will face Prime Minister Narendra Modi from the Varanasi seats. According to reports, Himangi Sakhi has reportedly stepped up to defend the trans area. As per the Election Commission, there were 48, 044 second- female citizens registered with the ECI in 2024. The amount has grown from 39, 683 in 2019.
As per her Twitter page, she is the nation’s 1st Transgender Bhagvat drama wachak. She also stated that she had performed many Bhagvat Katha, Ram Katha, and Devi Bhagvat Katha throughout the world. She professes devotion to Lord Krishna. According to a report from News18, her passion to ISKCON in Mumbai began at her home.
According to a PTI statement from earlier in February, trans community members are reportedly requesting identification as” Trans Shakti” and a larger part of the election results. The community members had argued that transgender candidates for the general elections must be able to receive equal recognition and representation because the narrative of” Narag Shakti” ( women empowerment ) must be rewritten.
